Make home easier for a pet with stiff joints

Small environmental changes can support comfortable movement.

Non-slip surfaces, comfortable bedding, and easy access to food, water, and toileting areas can help a pet that struggles to move. Consider a stable ramp where appropriate.

Record changes in rising, walking, and jumping. Ask your veterinarian about comfortable activity and weight management. Do not dismiss reduced movement as normal aging or force exercise through pain.
