Follow weight changes with a gentle plan

Use consistent records and an individual body-condition assessment.

Weigh your pet consistently and ask your veterinarian to assess body condition. A suitable target depends on the individual pet, not only its breed or a number on a chart.

Measure food, include treats in the daily total, and choose activity your pet can manage comfortably. Make changes gradually with veterinary guidance. Avoid crash diets or withholding food to achieve rapid weight loss.
