Feline calicivirus
Respiratory and mouth problems can interfere with eating.
Feline calicivirus is a contagious virus that can cause respiratory illness and mouth ulcers. Similar signs occur with other infections, so appearance alone cannot establish the cause.
Track breathing, food and water intake, and contact with other cats. Contact the clinic before attending and ask about separation, cleaning, and prevention.

Difficulty breathing is an emergency. Inability to eat or drink, or a kitten becoming weak, needs prompt care.
